Affiliate Disclosure
When a link earns a commission, we say so.
Template — review by a lawyer before publishing. This is a draft for a public-facing page and is not legal advice.
This page explains how affiliate links work on this site, in the spirit of the US Federal Trade Commission's disclosure guidance. It is a starting point, not legal advice.
The short version: Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you.
How it works
- An affiliate link carries a small tracking code that lets the partner know you arrived from our site.
- If you buy on the partner's site, a commission may be paid to us. It is paid by the merchant, not added to your price.
- If you don't buy, nothing changes — the click is simply recorded.
No invented figures
We do not state specific commission amounts or percentages here. Rates vary by partner, by product category and by program, and they change over time. Where it matters, check the partner's own program terms.
What we promise
- An affiliate link never changes the price you pay.
- A recommendation is not "better" because a commission is attached.
- We only link to merchants and products we have checked; nothing is listed until it is verified.
Where affiliate links appear
Product listings, "Samantha's Picks", comparisons and guides in the Shop may contain affiliate links, and they are tied to the shop context so you always know where a link leads.
Draft only: adapt this to your jurisdiction's rules (for example, FTC guidance in the US) and have it reviewed before publishing.
